Elders answer questions about the changes of the blood ban
by opusdei1972 insome days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).

THE CURRENT FADING OF BRAND NAME "THE WATCHTOWER"
by steve2 inthe current fading of brand name "the watchtower" & the rise, rise, rise of jw.org.
the watchtower as brand name is in the process of being imperceptibly faded from visibility in the organization.
who'd have thought you could make a watchtower fade and disappear?

Bit silly to say one of the reasons they are ditching Watchtower because of connotations with a prison. My whole life as a JW I never suspected or heard of such a connotation.

Getting really for three days in hell? It's said that posters who are this sloppy with their spelling and proof-reading are just as sloppy at wiping their ass.

Metatron: The sad thing is the obsequious, servile, compliant attitude of Witness Pollyanna's who see love and growth where none exists, as if they were the children of an addicted, uncaring parent.
That's such an articulate and accurate way of describing so many JW's today.

"Signs of the Times" Magazine published since 1874 - better than Watchtower and Awake!
by yadda yadda 2 inhave you ever seen the 'signs of the times' magazine published by the seventh day adventists?
i saw one at my local take-out recently for the first time and had a quick flick through.
i thought it was rather better the awake and/or watchtower!

And SDA's have their meetings on a Saturday (true Sabbath!), and they share a yummy vegetarian feast together after. Not as tasty as the Hare Krishna's vegetarian feasts though.

How Best to Kill off the Disgusting Old Whore of Brooklyn
by Focus ini have been absent from the anti-wts scene for a decade.. for some of this time, prominent bethelite has prepared a version of the list of watchtower lies and insanity which is about 50 (yes, fifty) times larger than its predecessor.. for some details, read here:.
http://hourglass2.com/forum/index.php?id=1702.
i would welcome views thereon.. it is to be anticipated that the filthy spiritual-pornographer society would respond with robust legal action to prevent dissemination of this work, misusing copyright and other law to repress it.. one can arrange for the entire new work to be placed, in downloadable pdf format, on the internet, in an enormous variety of hard-to-remove-from places.. i welcome views and commentary.. --.

As impressive as your exhaustive list is (Greg Stafford also did a very thorough one in "Three Dissertations on the Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses" but with commentary and footnotes), I'm really not sure how on earth it's going to 'kill off the disgusting old whore of Brooklyn', as you put it?

The point of my starting this thread, Shirley, is to show that JW's are hardly unique with their claims of the Watchtower magazine's longevity, etc. JW's seem to think the fact the Watchtower magazine has been published continuously since 1879 is something unique and indicates divine blessing on the magazine.

Kate Wild
by quellycatface ini've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.
not well at all.
i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

I've seen it before on here sadly. Newbies going through emotional trauma who seem to spend excessive time on here averaging high volume daily postings month after month, and then something snaps. Hope she can recover her equilibrium again soon.

Why stop at Calendars and Daily Texts? In the developed world, why not stop printing The Kingdom Ministry and the JW only Watchtower?
Why not get your daily text message via the JW.org and/or sent automatically to your cellphone?
Instead of sending donations to the Society, why don't congregations in richer countries just print their own leaflets and tracts for the door to door work? Get them printed at your local printing shop.
